Join us for Emerging Visions, this free art exhibition of Durham College’s Fine Arts Advanced students. We are excited for this new Exhibition showcasing their thesis collection. Downstairs on the lower level, DRIFF in a Jiff in the Lookout, and an open art activity in the Art Studio with Farah. Starapples Restaurant is popping up in the lobby and will be dishing out delicious eats for sale. We will also be featuring performances by Delon Om and HADDIX.

Born and raised in Pickering, Ontario, Canadian singer/songwriter Delon Om is a former contestant on Canadian Idol. HADDIX is a high energy pop-rock artist from Toronto Ontario. After releasing music written aside Grammy nominated songwriters in Nashville TN, HADDIX launched her first live shows in 2022, debuting at NXNE ’22! Since then she has taken her show on the road with her incredible band, opening for Juno nominated talent and gaining attention in the Canadian music scene.

In appreciation of a continued community-wide commitment to the Regional organics collection programs, residents are provided with free compost made using organics collected through curbside Green Bin and Leaf and Yard Waste programs. Quantities are first-come, first served and limited to four blue boxes of compost per vehicle.
Green bins, blue boxes, blue box lids and backyard composters will also be available for purchase (VISA, Mastercard, debit or e-transfer only), and broken bins can be exchanged for free.
What should I bring?
- Shovels: residents are responsible for shovelling their own compost.
- Containers: blue boxes, reusable containers, yard waste bags.

Join the Friends of Second Marsh staff for our Garlic Mustard - Plant Pull Activity.
The activity is taking place on the McLaughlin Bay Wildlife Reserve on Saturday, May 6 with a 10 am start.
There are no washrooms available on site and no dogs and smoking are permitted on the hike.
Volunteers must read our volunteer handout and sign our participant waiver.

The Durham Region Film Commission (Film Durham) is hosting their annual Film and Television Industry Career Fair for students and adults seeking a career in this exciting industry. With new film studios opening across Canada and the Greater Toronto Area, film and television production is rising at an extraordinary rate, providing high-quality job opportunities in Durham Region and beyond.
Attendees will have the opportunity to meet industry professionals; visit interactive displays; experience a behind-the-scenes look at the film and television industry; and, learn about careers including, but not limited to: cinematography and camera department; production sound; locations; costume design; hair and makeup; grip department; actor or performer; gaffer and electrical; props creation; art department, animation; visual effects (FX); accounting; assistant director; and post-production sound/picture editor.

A look at the vehicles and Tanks of the Vietnam War
This NEW event will have a look at the military vehicles and Tanks that were used during the Vietnam War.

Admission includes access to the museum that houses artifacts, medals, weapons and uniforms covering 150+ years of military history from the Fenian Raids of 1866 to the conflicts of today. Explore our Military Vehicle Conservation Centre with over 60 military vehicles and Tanks on display.

Friends of Second Marsh is looking for Volunteers to help lessen the impact of Phragmites on Oshawa Second Marsh by spading phragmites plants in nearby areas and removing them. Experience is not needed, training on technique will be provided.
