Lance Anderson presents MAD DOGS & ENGLISHMEN - Music of JOE COCKER and LEON RUSSELL Juno Award winning producer Lance Anderson has brought together a wonderful roster of CANADIAN BLUES ALL STARS. Two lead singers, three background singers, and a nine piece band recreate the magic of the award winning 1970’s tour, album and movie of the same name. The rhythm this group creates is a freight train which will pick you up and drop you down at the Fillmore East in NYC.
They come together to celebrate the music that Joe Cocker and Leon Russell threw together to fulfill a tour that almost didn’t happen. Cocker’s english band was not allowed into the USA, so at the last minute he asked Russell to assemble a group of musical all stars for a tour. Cocker asked the right man, as Leon was one of the most connected studio musicians and songwriters in L.A. and part of the infamous ‘Wrecking Crew’.
As an added bonus, the second half of the performance will feature the original sound and music of Canada's MATCHEDASH PARISH. Matt Weidinger and Lance Anderson formed the Matchedash Parish with 12 of the country’s top blues and roots music artists. It is a powerhouse soul and gospel/roots show guaranteed to bring the house down. They will perform original songs along with a few masterful arrangements of some modern classics that you will love.
