Join Friends of Second Marsh Staff for our Winter Walk in celebration of World Wetlands Day. We have scheduled two days: Saturday, January 28 and Thursday, February 2, both with a 1 pm start. Participants will receive a free Animals Tracks pocket guide thanks to OPG. No washrooms on site. Smoking prohibited. Pets are not permitted. You must register as space is limited. The Study Team for the Central Oshawa Integrated Major Transit Station Area Study is hosting Public Information Centre Number 1 to introduce the Study, provide the public an opportunity to comment on the background studies for existing conditions, and outline next steps.
Date/Time: February 2, 2023, 6:00 p.m. to 8:45 p.m.
Two identical 45-minute presentations will be made – at 6:15 p.m. and at 7:30 p.m., each followed by 30 minutes for discussion and questions on the presentation.
The meeting will occur in an in-person format and will also be streamed virtually.
In Person: The meeting will be held in-person in the C Wing Committee Room, Oshawa City Hall, 50 Centre St. S., Oshawa (enter from the Main South Entrance and immediately turn right).
Virtual: The meeting will be streamed. A link, call-in number and a copy of the presentation will be posted on Connect Oshawa at: www.connectoshawa.ca/MTSAStudy.
There will be an opportunity to submit questions electronically via Connect Oshawa in advance of the meeting.

And it’s not just FMX to get excited about. Wadded Up’s full lineup of daring BMX riders will be crashing the party as well, including X-Games gold medalist and Oshawa native Mike Varga.
Plus, kids get to be part of the show with Kids Power Wheel Races! Bring your own Power Wheel and a helmet to race around the track in front of a packed house.
Want to meet Mike and the other riders before the show? Buy passes for the pre-show party in the pits to meet the riders, sign autographs and take photos down on the stadium floor.

The Local History Speaker Series is taking place Tuesday, February 21 at 6PM. The Speaker Series will be held at the McLaughlin Branch of the Oshawa Public Libraries, in the lower level auditorium, located at 65 Bagot Street, Oshawa.
The Local History Speaker Series is an event presented in partnership between the Oshawa Historical Society and the Oshawa Public Libraries. Admission is free, donations to the Oshawa Historical Society will be accpeted at the door and are greatly appreciated.

Presented by Fer-Pal Infrastructure, the Indoor Fun Walk for Hearth Place Cancer Support Centre is finally back in the location where it all started - the Oshawa Centre! This is your chance to ignore whatever weather Mother Nature throws at us at the end of February and, instead, be warm indoors with other supporters of Hearth Place. Choose to walk a 1K loop or a 5K loop around the mall, or...do whatever you can.
How It Works:
- Register, using the link below, and choose either 1K or 5K. Register by FEB. 13TH to receive a FREE t-shirt!
- Don't want to walk alone? Recruit others and create a team!
- Create your Personal Pledge Page and ask your family and friends to support you by donating. Use the pledge sheet provided to collect any offline donations. There will be prizes for fundraising! (See below)
- Show up at the Oshawa Centre Food Court on February 26th in your best Summer Get-Up!
- Check-in and turn in any offline pledges.
- Walk your chosen distance while you enjoy the warmth of the mall and the fun and music of the summertime.
- Continue to feel the warmth of the day as you go home, knowing you helped provide support for families in the Durham Region who are dealing with a diagnosis of cancer.
