The Oshawa Environmental Advisory Committee (O.E.A.C.), in partnership with the Region of Durham and Ontario Tech University’s Office of Campus Infrastructure and Sustainability, is proud to present a free screening of the documentary film “Seed: The Untold Story” on Wednesday, October 18 at the Regent Theatre.
This documentary explores how many irreplaceable seeds are nearing extinction. SEED reveals the harrowing and heartening story of passionate seed keepers as they wage a David and Goliath battle against chemical seed companies, in an effort to defend our 12,000-year food legacy.
The event will start at 6:30 p.m. with a networking opportunity for attendees. Then, at 7 p.m., the evening will change pace with a presentation followed by the film screening.
Admission for the night is free. There will be a cash bar and door prizes awarded after the screening. Donations of non-perishable food items for our local food bank will also be accepted.
The Regent Theatre is located at 50 King St. E. in downtown Oshawa.
The O.E.A.C. is an advisory committee of Council that assists, advises and educates City Council, staff and the community on issues related to the environment. For more information, visit Oshawa.ca/OEAC and Oshawa.ca/Environment.
